48. Normanton

BRIAN – 81 Years Young
Another absolute gentleman on tour. Brian was camped next to us for a night or two. The boys loved him, he was such a wholesome being , very much at peace with himself & the world that surrounds him.

Pleasant cruising mate!

KRHYS THE CROC
This is a replica of a croc that was hunted & killed by a pro hunter in the earlier years of Normanton. One only has to drop into the local where the walls are covered with photos of massive crocs that have been hunted over the years. I spoke to a local Aboriginal whilst fishing with Dane whom had spotted a croc only metres from where we were fishing. This is really one spot where you just don’t go near the waters edge. That said, we absolutely loved Normanton. The locals are friendly & the pace is easy.

REDCLAW TIME
Dane is my fishing partner; he is always keen to wet a line or set some traps. A local told us of this billabong at the back of the township. Turned out to be a good spot, we caught about 30 yabbies in a couple of hours.
