MILLA MILLA FALLS
This place is real special. In a dry year this area receives 3.0m of rainfall, a wet year 8.0m. This area is also known as ‘The Misty Mountains’ where it may rain or at least be covered in a mist for 8 months of the year. It is also the highest area in Queensland that then dips steeply towards the coast. The result is many waterfalls & creeks with an endless supply of water.
MILLA MASSAGE
The water was cold, but heaps of fun. The rush of downdraught air was like a hurricane & the sound of the falling water was so loud that you had to shout to each other to be heard.
BUFFALO FARM
We met Rob & Tanya & family at Lake Tinaroo. They farm Buffalo for milk. Rob invited us to call in on our way down the tablelands to the coast. We stayed a night & the following day Rob really gave the boys a day in the life of a Buffalo farmer. After having cereal with fresh buffalo milk the boys helped feed the calves, tractor hay, ride the quad bike & hang out with the farm dogs. The buffalo milk is highly regarded by the Italians who will only use buffalo cheese in their pizzas etc. The milk is pure white & is velvety in texture.
